Big & Bold Cabernet Sauvignon

From Chile’s finest terroir comes this Cabernet Sauvignon, full of complex quality. The grapes are grown in poor, gravel soils at the foothills of the Andes Mountains and produce a wine that reflects the true expression of Maipo Valley. This provides 1865 with its high quality footprint of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasting notes: Deep garnet red. Intense aromas of ripe red fruit like cherries, plums and blueberries, in addition to cassis blended with notes of chocolate, mocha and cedar. There are also spicy notes imparted from wine’s barrel aging, which adds complexity to this wine. Very dense and concentrated, with mature and noticeable tannins. In addition, the wine displays a very good balance between the tannins, acidity and oak.

Food pairing: Roast meat, Beef, Lamb stew, duck, Game (deer, venison) and Poultry; strong cheese

Product History: San Pedro is a Chilean wine producer and one of the most famous in the country. The founders of the company are considered to be the Correa brothers. In 1865, they bought the estate that once belonged to their ancestors. Gradually they began to produce wines and demand increased, since 1940 the company began to export wines far beyond Chile and is currently second in the country for the export of Chilean wines. The Winery owned by large vineyards in the valleys such as the Maipo, Curico, Rapel and Maule.
