Dark garnet colour with brick tints. Small nose to open, with a bouquet, then on notes of red fruit gratin, cocoa, and laurel. Velvety, fleshy attack, with mature tannins. Beautiful envelope, character on roasted red fruits, milk chocolate and sweet spices, full-bodied. Velvety, powerful, full-bodied finish, with good length on spices and red fruit gratin.

This is an absolutely gorgeous Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and an excellent value, as well. The wine is drinking wonderfully now, but has enough richness and depth to develop in the cellar over the next 5 years. Enjoy with steak in a red wine sauce, grilled veal chops with herbs or a wild rice and mushroom casserole.
